I grew up in the western suburbs and developed an interest in finance at an early age. Long before I earned my degree or professional licenses, I was always looking for ways to create value—whether it was running “Shawn’s Print Shop,” selling refreshments at the local golf course, or even selling candy at school. I was so particular about my earnings that I famously ironed my dollar bills! Those early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for planning, discipline, and the art of preparation.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Western Illinois University and spent my early career working in my family’s HVAC business. There, I gained hands-on experience in vendor negotiations and working with customers in selecting the right system for them. By learning every aspect of the operation, I developed a practical understanding of how financial decisions affect both individuals and business owners—knowledge I apply every day when helping you plan for your future.
Preparation has always been the heartbeat of my life. While working multiple jobs through high school and college, I was already planning ahead for my own future family—establishing college savings and life insurance plans for my daughters, Kaylee and Kaitlyn, when they were still very young. That same forward-thinking mindset guides the way I work with my clients today.
With over 18 years of experience, I specialize in retirement strategies, life insurance, and solutions for both individuals and business owners. When I’m not in the office, I’m usually outdoors enjoying a bike ride, playing tennis, or hiking. Perhaps once my daughters head off to college, I’ll finally have the time to tune up my golf game—but for now, most of my 'extra' time is spent as a part-time Uber driver for them! I’ve completed several sprint triathlons and love traveling and watching movies. Most of all, I cherish time spent with my wife, Tiffany, and our two daughters, Kaylee (15) and Kaitlyn (13).
